The engine hood is a very important component around the engine of a car. When selecting materials, factors such as lightweight, heat resistance, long-term thermal aging resistance, oil resistance, rigidity, impact strength, dimensional stability, and cost need to be considered.
At present, the main materials for engine hood are as follows:
Fiberglass reinforced PA (GF-PA): This material is suitable for engine hood covers of mid to high end car models and has excellent high temperature resistance, aging resistance, as well as good mechanical and chemical stability.
Long glass fiber reinforced PP (LFT-PP): This material is inexpensive, has excellent performance, outstanding mechanical properties, and high dimensional stability, making it a cost-effective choice suitable for mid to high end car models
